There's an interesting progression in these images, from (1) a uniform whole which fits the set thanks to an aesthetic of subdivision that simulates systematic modularity to (2) an aesthetic of actual modularity which conceals an actual system of connection that is integral to the project (have you seen the software behind this in Control to Design?) and finally (3) a system of functioning aggregation clad in a fairly superficial aesthetic of discrete modularity.
There's something going on here with the hole/box scale that's pretty incredible too.
Thanks so much for the feedback Trevor - yes it is a low-tech operation thus far... the modularity is an attempt to localize a typically totalizing system, introducing surface and scalar shifts that maintain their platonic geometry yet potentially radically modify the spatial result... more to come.
